Well… It’s that time again… THANKSGIVING! We’ve had a great week- and our weekend will be even better. In honor of the beginning of the Holiday Season, we did some baking- here are some pictures:
It’s all been great fun
We Started with a Paleo Cherry-Cranberry Sauce from Nom Nom Paleo… It both smelled and tasted amazing! It was also very simple to make. The most exciting part though, was when my cell phone decided to take a swim in the boiling sauce! Thankfully it still works!
Next we made mini pumpkin pie using pre-made pie crust and a cupcake pan! Soo easy and so delicious!!
My mom came to town this week also, and we decided to get ahead on holiday baking. We made a number of different decadent treats- but noteworthy was two different recipes: Beer & Bacon Brittle and Browned Buttered Caramel Snickerdoodles. Needless to say, I had to IMMEDIATELY box ’em up and stick ’em in the freezer to keep from eating every last one.
And lastly I attempted a picture I saw on Pinterest for a “peek-a-boo” bread! With a loaf of pumping bread- I cut pieces with a pumpkin cookie cutter and placed them in a loaf pan- then covered them with pound cake and baked it. When you cut it open- you get a cute surprise!! And OH MY GOD it is delicious!!
Needless to say- it’s time to get back on track and hit the gym!! But then again- what’s life if you can’t enjoy it a little 🙂
